How to Get More Instagram Followers and Monetise Them

One of the most common questions we get asked is, how can we get more followers?

But followers do not equal bookings.

Presumably the better question is, how can I turn my Instagram folllowers into bookings?

And then, if you have a reliable way to convert new followers into bookings, you can start to think about investing into new follower growth.

Most successful businesses have marketing and sales.

Think of getting followers as marketing, and converting them as sales. One doesn't work without the other.

One way to convert new followers is to send them a direct message.

That message could be an offer, where the offer is exclusive to the DM strategy, making it trackable.

Example

Send DMs to new followers

The DM includes an exclusive offer

If 5% of those DM'd make a booking

and If each booking is worth $200

Then each follower is worth $200 x 0.05 = $10

There are many variables which may affect the conversion rate of your DM strategy, not limited to your brand, location and follower growth method.

One way to get more new followers is to run paid ads on Instagram, where the call to action is to send traffic to your IG profile.

If you want to maximise your ROI, you'll want to ensure your ad is set up to target the people most likely to convert from your DM.

Example

You spend $100 on an 'Instagram profile views' ad

If the average cost per click was $0.5

100 / 0.5 = 200 IG profile views

If 25% of the traffic converted into a follower

200 x 0.25 = 50 new followers

If we spent $100 and got 50 new followers then;

$100 / 50 = $2 per new follower

But if each new follower was immediately worth $10, you're now getting 5x on your investment on your new followers - and that's before you factor in loyalty.

In this example, you could spend $100 / week on ads, gain 50 new followers and pick up 2-3 bookings extra per week. Is this worth testing?
